About the Devin Waring Foundation

Established in 2019, the Devin Waring Foundation honors the memory of Devin Waring—a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. Devin’s infectious energy and charm brightened every room he entered. Tragically, Devin’s life was cut short when he died by suicide on December 16, 2017, just three months after his 18th birthday.  Devin’s story is a poignant reminder of a broader crisis affecting our nation.

High Impact
Age Group

Suicide is the second leading cause of death for ages 10 to 24 in the U.S.

Disproportionate
Risk

First responders are more likely to die by suicide than in the line of duty.

Prevalence
Among Teens

Annual federal data shows about 10% of teens (ages 12–17) have serious suicidal thoughts, 5% make a plan, and 3% attempt suicide.

The DWF is dedicated to addressing this urgent issue.

Awareness

Utilizing targeted digital campaigns and online spaces to destigmatize mental health conversations, educate on warning signs, and provide direct access to 24/7 crisis support resources.
